1:12 Scale Capacious Colonial – The Landing and the Attic

What else would I have in an attic?

Australian houses don’t really have attic spaces but I know if mine did – that’s where I would have my crafting space.  Being as how I worry about ridiculous things like “how would the little people get into the attic” on the upper landing I put a pull down stair on the ceiling.

What should I have in my craft room?

If I made everything that’s in my real craft space I would be making stuff till the end of my life! So I went with a worktable area for building mini dollhouses, a sewing area and a sitting area.

The Finished Attic!

I’m stoked with the light pillars I made from some wood and tiny glass canisters because there was no way I was going to try ceiling-mounted lighting in this room! It’s pretty minimalistic – so the complete opposite to how I really craft.  The floor is removable so I can access lighting from the rooms below but it’s needs to be stuck down a bit better.

SO that’s IT for the inside.  Next I moved onto adding a front deck, slapping on some wood siding, fixing the porch roof and framing out the windows to add a bit of warmth.
